Summer Academy for Piano and Chamber Music in Konz

Since 1994 master courses for pianists and chamber music groups. Experienced musicians and professionals provide tailored advice and guidance in an international and collegial environment.
We offer public concerts in the region as well as in France and Luxembourg in which participants perform.

Programme of the Summer Academy 2019  (25th August  to 8th September)

Laura Maito (artistic director, pianist, piano professor) will be working intensely on Mozart and Beethoven sonatas, romantic piano music (Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin, Liszt), as well as concertos for piano and orchestra.

Other courses will be arranged according to the needs of the participants.

There is also the opportunity to visit Beethoven's birth house in Bonn.

Language assistance during the courses will be in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.


Fees: For Pianists, full participation including private accommodation will be 300 €. For other instrumentalists, the fee is calculated according to the length and type of participation.

How to get there

Our concerts

We offer a series of public concerts. The concerts have meaningful and balanced programmes, which are performed by a small number of pianists often including chamber music and sometimes concertos for piano and orchestra. Since 1994, 198 concerts with piano, chamber music with piano, and various concertos for piano and orchestra have been performed in 34 different halls in three countries: Germany, France, and Luxembourg.

Among the performed piano compositions one can find various works by J. S. Bach and Scarlatti, various Sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven,  many Impromptus, Scherzi, Ballades, Polonaises and Sonatas by Chopin, several compositions by Schumann, Brahms and Liszt, pieces by Debussy, Ravel, Skriabin, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, and many other composers.  Our chamber music includes Piano Quintets by Brahms, Dvorak, Fauré, Franck, Schubert, Schumann, Sgambati, Spohr, Sextets by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Poulenc, Quartets by Brahms, Chausson, Fauré, Schumann, and many Duos and Trios. Schumann's Piano Concerto, Chopin's No. 2, Saint-Saëns's No. 2, Beethoven's No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, ten Piano Concertos  by Mozart, Liszt's "Malédiction" and many other orchestral works have been performed.
